Steak in pomegranate sauce
Berber women used to foretell how many children they would have with pomegranate: they would draw a circle on the ground and throw inside ripe pomegranate and the number of grains outside the circle would tell the number of offspring. If you have some grain of pomegranate to spare, try this out and peek into your future!

Ingredients
| 4 — 6 | |
| 1.5 kg | pork loin roast |
| 1-2 tablespoons | Vegeta |
| 2 cloves | garlic |
| ½ teaspoon | pepper |
| 3 tablespoons | oil |
| 100 ml | pomegranate juice |
| 50 g | butter |
| 2-3 tablespoons | lemon juice |
| 20 g | grains of cleaned pomegranate |
Preparation
- Rub the pork loin roast with Vegeta, crushed garlic and pepper.
- Pour over with heated oil, baste with about 100 ml of warm water, cover with aluminium foil and roast in preheated oven at 200°C for about 35 minutes.
- Pour over with pomegranate juice and continue roasting until the meat is tender. During roasting baste with water if necessary.
- Take out the roasted meat and put in a warm place.
- Drain the sauce and put in a smaller bowl. Add butter, lemon juice and boil for about 10 minutes.
- Mix in pomegranate grains and pour over the cut, warm chops.
Serving
Serve with salad of choice.
Advice
You need fresh pomegranate for this dish. Pomegranate juice is best squeezed in electric lemon squeezer.
